Guardians of the Bays Chair Yvonne Weeber is part of the Community Liaison Group for the Sludge Minimisation Facility (SMF). Earthworks have begun on the site of the plant.
In the coming months, the Hillock (the remnant outcrop of Moa Point) on the airport land will be removed for SMF construction storage and future Wellington Airport operations.
We will soon find out what the final plant layout, design, cladding and colour will be as it could be different from this picture.
